Who You Are
- You have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C) or NVQ Level 2 or relevant experience.
- You possess at least two years of relevant experience dealing directly with customers and partners.
- You are able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- You can plan and organize workloads, ensuring work is completed to agreed standards.
- You show an understanding and sympathetic attitude towards the bereaved.
- You are familiar and competent with Windows-based software.
- You are honest, reflective, and willing to improve your skills and style.
- You demonstrate a willingness to promote Newport City Council's Strategic Equality Plan positively.
What the Job Involves
- Providing clerical and administrative support to the team leader.
- Assisting customers with enquiries related to funerals and memorials.
- Communicating with customers and crematorium partners in person, by telephone, and in writing.
- Conducting a range of administrative tasks, including those associated with cremations.
- Receiving payments for crematorium services and maintaining records in compliance with financial regulations.
- Assisting in building and maintaining effective relationships with crematorium partners.
- Undertaking other related duties necessary for the successful operation of the crematorium.
