Who You Are

We are seeking a Transport Planning Technical Support Officer to join our Transport Planning and Policy team. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and interested in how transport planning contributes to creating safer, more sustainable, and better-connected places. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive, flexible approach to customer service are essential. Experience or qualifications in transport, planning, or a closely related field are advantageous but not essential.

What the Job Involves

This role involves delivering a customer-focused service by assessing the transport implications of minor planning applications, including parking, road safety, and impacts on the road network. You will review proposals against transport planning policies and provide clear comments to Planning Officers. The position also includes supporting the Transport Planning service with technical work, data handling, and case management, while helping to identify practical mitigation measures to support efficient movement. You'll work closely with Transport Planning colleagues and other officers to deliver positive community outcomes.
